As they stand in Airlie Beach’s night precinct, Forster pulls out his gun from its holster and points it towards Gilbert.
Forster again says: “Armed police, put the knife down.”
Gilbert responds: “Do it.”
Police repeatedly tell Gilbert to put down the knife as he moves towards them, yelling at officers “f—ing shoot me, faggot” several times.
