Douglas Ball: Australian skydiver dies following hard landing in Laguna Quays, Queensland

A highly experienced skydiver and instructor has sadly passed after suffering critical injuries in a hard landing during a jump in Laguna Quays last week.

When the tragedy occurred, Douglass Ball, 52, was landing a solo dive 50km south of Airlie Beach in Queensland just before midday on April 16.

He was flown to Mackay Base Hospital in a critical but stable condition before being taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, where he died over the weekend.
