When Jim Acheson was approached about renaming the River Street marina in his honor, Dave Brown joked he had “simply and somewhat abruptly” turned the idea down.
But on Wednesday, a few dozen friends and loved ones, as well as Port Huron officials got their chance to honor the late businessman and philanthropist — and his legacy — as the city unveiled new signage for the James C. Acheson Marina just off the Black River and near downtown.
