The city of Port Huron is renaming the River Street marina in honor of the late businessman and philanthropist Jim Acheson.
City Council agreed to change the name of the marina, located off the Black River, to the James C. Acheson Marina — complete with a large blue and white-lettered sign — during Monday’s meeting.
Acheson, well known for his decades of charity and economic development support in Port Huron, died on April 2.
